Mustang hoodskin build "Eleanor"
This is my latest fun little project it's a hood skin for a 1967 mustang.
That's all so far. I consider myself a novice at this so any comments or suggestions are very welcomed. I like many others am here to learn.

Hi Dan, Nice project, great job so far, like you I just do it for fun. Out of interest this is how I would have cut it up, don't know if it would work any better or not, but just how I'd tackle it. How do you plan on making a frame for it?

Nice work Dan. What are you going to do for the inner structure?

For the inner structure I'm hoping to use a original frame and lengthen it. This hood is a little longer than the one that came on the car. I figured it would save time not having to figure out latch and hinge locations, but plans sometime change if a better way is found.

Making the first strip
Quote:
Dan, can you comment on the equipment and method you used to make the first outside strip? Maybe something like this? 1) use bead roller to make the first bend along the length 2) stretch the upper edge to get the curve (stretcher, shrinker) 3) use bead roller to form the upper crease, hammer and dolly to finish, shrink to get it to lay down 4) bead roller to form the downward edge, shrink to get the curve. I am very much interested in learning how and what tools it takes to do this Thank you. Bob

Thanks Dan, I look forward to seeing how you do it. N I have been eyeing some of these training and meets. If they get a bit closer to PA, I would love to attend.
