what a great day!

i had arranged to see peter tommasini today with help making a door skin for my 356, it's a long panel to hold on my own so the guidance and help was much appreciated to say the least!

we picked two sweep gauges from his set to check the curve of the original skin... i can't say how handy those sweep gauges are! and the amount of them, increasing in .5 increments if i were doing this full time they would be at the top of my list of purchases!

after peter had divided his time between 2 nice people who were there learning from the man himself, and after being patient wheeling with me we finally had the shape in the new skin, here is the proud man with a new born panel lol.

Thanks Neil for posting. Hope you enjoyed today and most of all that you
learnt some handy hints. PS my legs still hurt from wheeling, must be getting
old

so it was time to make another door skin for the opposite side, as before i made a call to peter to help me. it's always good to see what peter is working on, you never know what he's up to or what you'll discover since the last visit. i'll share my discovery after the important bit lol.

i took the door to work and spot welded the frame pieces back together, it's solid again now, i aligned the hinges and got it bolted back on.

it's great to see it back on the car, and with both hinges attached! so the on to the skin...

a couple of short video's of the action! you'll have to excuse the fat guy on the left... i tried my best

the attachment fits directly into peter's cast wheeling machine frame in under 5 minutes! i don't know when he gets time to sleep to be honest lol, it wasn't ready to use today (damn it!) but i'm sure they will be ready very shortly. and along with that came this demonstration!

it's a stretcher for the pullmax, i have a short video which i will upload shortly but it works perfect, the adapters (top and bottom) were designed and made, and the whole thing is so simple and easy to set up. obviously you need to know what you are doing using it, that's why i stayed well away
