Default Minnesota Guy

Hey, Guys:

I'm a newly retired guy from suburban St. Paul, MN. I've been interested in metal shaping for quite some time, but from a bit of a different perspective. I've got some machine tools and I'm interested in fabricating some of my own metal shaping tools. I'm going to start with a planishing hammer, then an English Wheel, and perhaps then a Helve Hammer.

What I'm looking forward to is fabricating my own dies and hammers, as I'd just like to goof around with sheet metal until I get a feel for things.

In terms of cars, I've got a couple of Alfa Romeos - a coupe and a spider - and I'm going to have to make some small patch panels for them.

Anyway, since this site is associated with so many professionals, and there's so much information her, I figure it's the best place on the Internet to start.

Welcome!! Take Barry up on his offer, you won't be sorry. Great guy!! You also need to plan on attending the Route 56 Meet this fall. It's a great chance to get your hands on some tools.
