Default Robot fish

A good few years ago I made an aluminium fish head for a robot fish that was being developed by Essex University. I dont know now if this is the head I made because I showed the guy how to make it. Well I thought some of you might find this interesting if nothing else.

This was the fish he was working on at the time

I could not find any footage of this fish with the head on, he did tell me he would probably use the head for the next one that would swim under water. They wanted an aluminium head because the rest of the Mk 1 fish looked so real.

David, very interesting, the second fish looks very real and both move like real fish. Thanks for posting.

I was going through some Cds of photos and came across these photos of the fish head so I thought I would add them to the thread.
I am not an artist and no metal sculptor but making this was a nice brake from the norm for a couple of hours.....

Joe, the reason they wanted an aluminium head on the fish was because the rest of it looked so real and they thought that with an aluminium head it would look more interesting. I made the head freehand on my air planishing hammer and I worked from a photo.
