Davids correct in his statement. It didn't start out balanced, the business end was a bit too long and the handle tang was too long and I thought a bit narrow. I kept removing material off the business end until it felt good, then worked on the mold pattern for the urethane grip till it felt good as well. It's a fairly soft, pourable urethane I poured on the tang in a mold. One of my few better ideas! It certainly isn't new looking now like in the pic, it's all black, but has held up well.

I know it doesn't look like much but I made this slapper out of some 16ga. stainless that was lying around. It seems to work fine for aluminum and light gauge steel.

I have one of Dutch's slappers like Marty posted. It is excellent and I would highly recommend one of these.
