I like the factory reproduction, but better, philosophy... It really makes for a professional finish.

I'm always intrigued to see how you make your jigs and tooling to create the features of the panels.

I noticed in the video where the formed beads were put in with the Lennox, that it seemed like you tipped up the part at the one end. Why was that needed? It didn't seem that you did that at the other end.

Thanks for posting all the details!

Brad, sorry but somehow I missed this question. We didn't do any pre-stretch on the panel and when making the long pass, with not much on the template to prevent movement, it tipped the one side up slightly.. SO when you see us tipping the panel in the video, it was because our panel was no longer flat, and we wanted to keep the section being punched flat to the table for consistent depth of punch throughout.. Thanks for the question!

Thanks Pugsy!

Tonight we worked on getting the driver's side wheel well installed. To help eliminate the contamination issue from the close proximity of the primer, we used these piloted burnishing brushes to remove the paint around the plug weld holes on both front and back sides...

That did the trick, no volcanoes this time...

Next we'll need to dress these welds and epoxy prime the bare spots.

Nice! I've not seen those piloted burnishing brushes before – I'll have to look out for some.

Default Nice!

Robert, you could leave a fender off to show everyone what care and attention to detail went into the innards of this project. A project to be very proud of.

I've known them as bonding brushes, used in the grounding of aircraft wiring.
