Default New NOOB, here to learn from South Africa

Greetings from South Africa! I am here to learn. I know a tiny bit, nothing much to brag about. I am interested in metal shaping (bikes and cars), love fabrication, design, bringing old machines back to life, old machinery and tools, welding..... list goes on and on.
I am a trained architect, but could not stand being behind a computer all day - have to get my hands dirty and make. Ended up teaching and running workshop at the university I studied at in the UK (metal work and wood work for architects, product design, artists and sculpture).

I have completed a course with Contour Auto Craft in the UK, which improved my skills 10 fold. Always fun to hang out with like minded individuals.
Moved back to SA recently to start my own welding supply business (stuck behind a computer again...)
Anyway that's me in a nutshell

Hi Deon and welcome.

There are a few of us shapers here in SA. I see you're in JHB - I'm in Randburg.

Hello Deon welcome to the site.

What brands do you sell in your supply shop?

Hi & welcome Deon!

I did the Contour course in 2006 - expensive but worthwhile. Great to see more and more Saffers joining! Looking forward to seeing how you put your new knowledge into practice - please share any current or future projects on here.
