South African Shapers - A winter meet in Cape Town?
With a bunch of new SA members of late, and quite a number of people having done my basic three day course, it is about time to revive the idea of a local 'meet. (I had given up the idea for lack of interest and people taking the piss)
SO..... my spacious and fairly well equipped 'shop is available: 2 E-wheels; Nibbler; TIG; Mig & O/A; zip-gun planishing hammer; stomp shear; helve (sort of!) plus plenty hand-tools. Now we need to nail down a date. July/August sounds good to me but I am open to suggestions. Who is keen & for when? And I'd really like to see some interesting projects. We should be able to get 15-20 people at least... |

Hey Barry, great idea.
There might be a sculpting job I'll be on for a steel factory's 50th due mid August, but if I'm available I'd be interested in joining up. For you other guys in CT, Barry's got a really stunning place at the foot of a mountain just outside Stellenbosch and his workshop's big enough to swing a horse (and trailer)! Thanks, Manny |
