Default just to see howfar we can go

This is a panel that me and a friend have done in one piece a while ago without using any machine at all .......All done by hand.
the exercise was to see how many, and how long the tucks could be and how far we could go ...normally you would do something like this in a few pieces and weld them together but as I said we just did it as an exercise......
a good way to learn

Beautiful! How much longer to do that in one piece over welding pieces together?

Robert we did not keep track at the time BUT! I would say if done in pieces you probably would do the same guard in half that time

please note that we only wanted to see if it could be done

Again as I mention.... a good practice for blocking, tuck shrinking, hand skills using hammer and dolly and metal finishing, also learning how to keep a large piece of material under control at all times without going all over the place

The roof skin we did for my Willys at the metal meet, I been thinking of adding a rib up the middle front to rear to match the one in the bonnet. It looks like the one you have in this guard. How would you go about it please?

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Really great work, Peter. The integrity of doing it in one piece makes it much more impressive to me personally and professionally, both as an artist and an artisan. Doesn't matter if it's metal, stone or anything else. I love seeing it done in one piece, period.

Monolithic work is where it's at..
