Very impressive work Robert. That looked like a very tricky job, but you nailed it. Thanks for sharing.

Great job Robert.

But I have a question. Where's the engine? Or you made a mistake first and then made the right hood and made louvers on the other hood to be sure. You should lock it in from the inside so that small pieces of luggage don't look out of place.

Great to see the setup, Robert. (When I see nice factory louvers (Duesenberg "water drop" louvers, Abarth GTL arched louvers, etc) I only think of the setup involved ....
Nice clean work! And straightens the panel a bit, too....

Hi Robert
Once again your thinking out of the box has gotten a successful result.

Lots of time and planning payed off!

Very nicely done.

Nice job again and hope that means you will get more work from it as well, as can't be too many that can do this on such a high crown panel.

Where did the louvering of a boot lid come from exactly? I know now it is just a style thing, but apart from rear engined vehicles, I can't see why it was ever done? It doesn't save weight and would actually increase drag. So not a racing thing I would imagine unless for remote oil/water coolers were used perhaps?

Thanks for the kind words fellas.. Cody has asked me a couple times if we could do a certain louver and I've said of course.....then wonder how to pull it off after hanging up the phone... I'd say it's good to be backed into a corner every now and then, out of your comfort zone for a good challenge.

Marcus, this is a picture of a Renault that Cody sent me, I think what he had been looking at for styling cues..

I first saw "Louvering the Boot" in SoCal in the 60's (Before Jim Hall and the invention of the "wing") . Guy's hot rodding roadsters, especially the Lakesters, would trap air underneath and the louvers in the back would release the pressure.
