This shows how the filter sets with the lower seal in place
So there is on misunderstanding I would like to add the air filter top is an after market metal spun part and not made in my shop.

Steve, your workshop is more like a dining room, that clean you can eat your dinner off the mill. And that is testament to the quality of workmanship that is coming out of there. Awesome. Great work.

Default Back after 2 years

Back after 2 year absence. May previous shop was in a commercial building we owned. To make a long story short the building sold and it took over a year to build a home shop. I am getting my feet back on the ground and will update my progress.

Stock deck lid overhang. - Problem - where to attach the wing and still have easy trunk access.

By making a filler in the overhang area. We can cut the overhang lip off the deck lid and have a place to attach the wing.

The tape arrow shows the stock opening. - The straight edge shows the crown in the center of the panel to match the deck lid.

Top of the panel has a 1/8" step for the deck lid and dzus button dimple - dzus spring with recessed rivet holes for flush mounting.

Now we have a mounting point for the wing and easy deck lid access.

Nice solution to the issue. So how did you finish off the back edge of the trunk lid?

Steve;
The deck lid is fiberglass so after making a straight cut it was a simple matter of block sanding a true edge and radius the sharp edges.
