While it's doubtful that any of our members are unaware of the Oblong event hosted by the MetalMeet.com inc. Board of Directors, in good faith with the community we're making this announcement. For discussion and more details, visit the MM site.

International MetalMeet 2011 Oblong, IL. Event Dates October 15th thru 23rd

The Crawford County Fair Board Oblong IL. (“Fair Board”) and the Village of Oblong(Oblong) have agreed to provide facilities and MetalMeet.com Inc. Board of Directors and Members (“MetalMeet”) agree to provide equipment and tools for use by participants in The International MetalMeet 2011 to be held at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, Oblong Illinois in October 2011 (the Event). As a condition to your participation in the “Event” and the use of the facilities, equipment and tools, you are to enter into this Release of Liability.

You agree to comply with any rules and regulations established by the Fairboard, Oblong, and MetalMeet, for use of the facilities, equipment and tools. Your failure to comply may result in termination of your participation in the Event.


You are aware that participation in the Event may result in accident or injury, and you assume the risk connected with your participation in the Event. You agree that your use of the facilities, equipment and tools, shall be at your own risk.

NEITHER FAIRBOARD, OBLONG, NOR METALMEET.com Inc SHALL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS, DEMANDS, INJURIES, DAMAGES, OR ACTIONS FOR NEGLIGENCE ARISING ON ACCOUNT OF YOUR DEATH OR DUE TO YOUR INJURY OR LOSS OF, DAMAGE TO, OR THEFTOF YOUR PROPERTY OR PERSONAL POSSESSIONS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT OR YOUR USE OF THE FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT OR TOOLS. You hereby hold Fairboard, Oblong, MetalMeet.com Inc and their respective agents and employees harmless from all claims which may be brought against them by you, your heirs or on your behalf for any such injuries or claims.

THIS AGREEMENT RELEASES Fairboard, Oblong, and MetalMeet.com Inc from liability for negligence. You are voluntarily assuming all risk of injury, and loss or damage to person or property.

International Metalmeet 2011 steel and aluminum purchase

2011 Metal Sales

The metal sales for the 2011 Metalmeet event will start here. Each year the Board of Directors makes a metal purchase for metal that will be used during the Metalmeet event. We try to purchase enough for projects that take place during the event. We expect everyone to be fair and reasonable with the steel they use.

At this time we also give the members an opportunity to purchase steel for their personal use at the event or to take home with them. We do have a sheer at the fairground site to cut this metal so as it will fit in your vehicle. In order to keep this simple we will only be purchasing two types of metal.

There is a deadline for this order. We have to allow the steel company enough time to get the order together and delivered so the deadline for orders will be September 25th 2011.
