Rob
Thanks for the explanation - not how I thought it was done, so learned something. Also, nice to see what you are taking on. Keep plugging away. I have been working on a car for 12 years now, still some more metal work to go.

Thanks for your kind comments guys,

It's the first time I've taken on a project with this much shaping and fabrication as just about every panel needs to be re made and I'm really enjoying it.

This is a pillar section I made in the last few days and is probably the most complicated shape I've attempted.

Totally rotted !

20140630_121715.jpg
I broke the flange with the flat anvil on the e wheel and shrunk/stretched the flange to suit the contour

20140701_135504.jpg
I cut the area where the top striker will mount as it had quite a sharp step,

I would have liked to do the deep flange on the left in one piece but our shrinker doesn't go that deep,

20140703_154404.jpg
striker mounts welded in and reinforced

done!

I'm always open to new ways and different techniques so if you have any ideas of how I may have done it to make it easier or more efficient I'd love to hear them.

Hi Rob,
Some great shapes you are making there mate, I can't believe parts get that rusty so far from the ground, I thought British cars rusted the best, now I see we can't even be the best at that, are we any better at cricket these days?

I'd think cars which rust the best is a title one wouldn't mind losing.
