Due to my eyesight my best welds were probably 10 or 15 years ago but during the time period when I was doing heavy collision work for a dozen or more body shops in my area my welding was second to none of those shops. During that period I tried several different brands of weld thru primer and gave up on the concept entirely, I felt the primers ruined the structural integrity of my welds. If my welds broke my reputation was shot plus there could possibly even be legal problems and the stuff smelled like it wasn’t good for your lungs when you welded it so I quickly lost interest in the concept. I used to put undercoating spray heads & wands on to spray bombs of paint and blow paint into all my weld areas before dropping the repaired cars out of my clamping & pulling system. ~ John Buchtenkirch

I have always read that the copper based one was the best to use. Pity it is so dam expensive!

Hi guys, just wondering about the use of copper weld thru primer. I have tried this stuff and you get a lovely mig weld with it with little splatter.
My concern is that copper is a more noble metal than steel which means that the steel will corrode. An example of this is your statue of liberty where the iron frame was corroded by the copper outer skin.
For those of you in the UK / Europe Terson make a top notch zinc rich spray which I have used for many years

I also use Teroson panel bond on spot welded flanges it is a two pack epoxy resin which you can spot weld thru once it cures your flange will be rock solid with no chance of corrosion on your flanges. It is also used on flanges of panels which are fixed with self piercing rivots

Aside from that French statuary Mr. Turner, I love that Wheel your lads constructed there in Falkirk. Wonderfully inspiring waterbox lift.
