I also have an aviator jet, and as you're familiar with them, I'm wondering if
the Meco Midget disassembly instructions on your website apply to the aviator jet torch as well?

I've had my Meco for about 10 years and I love it. Works great for me on steel but I still haven't been able to master aluminum which is why I bought it in the first place.

Last night I tried to tackle the wizardry of filming the gas welding with the goal of better visibility of the weld puddle. This is about as close as I can get with using a iPhone camera and a welding helmet lens. Also made use of a Milwaukee LED light to brighten things for less of a change in light.

These are filmed through the Miller Digital Elite, Weld setting 9, delay 2. sensitivity 6. I think I still need to come up with something better, especially for showing any TIG welding. Are there any Photography guru's that can steer me in the right direction for filming weld processes?

Certainly not a guru here, but now that I'm apparently "old" I am blind as a bat if I'm not the proper distance from a weld puddle- especially with my Speedglas electric helmet. The focal length with my eyes is now significant and no amount of extra light will help. I would anticipate the focal length of the camera for welding video is similarly sensitive to find the sweet spot of visibility between white-out and too dark. Once I figured a good focal length where the puddle is clearly visible, then I would zoom as needed.

I've only photo'd my torch stuff for my company edu and promo for a while, and I use my Tm2000 lens cut for my camera and I rig the lighting to balance the view enough to get me by.

I know there are photogs out there who specialize in getting nice images of various welding processes, as they have called me asking if they can help me.

My thought for you is to get a copy of the AWS "Welding Journal" and look up the writers and photogs there, as they are all business about their articles.
I'd assume you want to be a youtube source of welding processes?
