Welcome to the forum, Bob. Gotta ask, having had numerous Beetles, and seeing the rear cut the way it is, are you planning a non-VW engine swap?

Weld, just a regular ol v-dub motor going back there. All that extra space is great for the turbo, oil cooler, ducts, etc. I'll post it in the automotive forum when I get the new firewall built.
