As always, it's looking great Marcus. Thanks for the update.
fwiw, I agree with the rims and tires details you mention. Those are details that mean a lot to me (period, style, etc) so kinda cool to hear other's voice the same concerns.

I don't know anything about insurance in Australia, so if I'm asking a dumb question, I apologize...
Most specialty insurance, at least here in the US, require you drive a custom vehicle like this very rarely, but regular insurance won't begin to cover the amount of work this thing has undergone. How are you going to insure this thing when you're done?

I owned a specialist Motor Insurance Company before I retired.
We insured $1,000,000 style cars right down to street rods. You can get cover that allows you to drive daily and even commute if you wish. It isn't that expensive when compared to "normal"cars because the Underwriters understand the owners of these vehicles take better care of their cars than of their wives. From a claims perspective these are about the best category of vehicle to insure. |

It will be a specialty insurance company for an agreed value. They either inspect it or you provide receipts and photographs etc to prove value.

Still working away but not doing anything picture worthy right now with sorting wiring etc.
On other thoughts, my wife and I saw Tank green, as first offered on the 2015 Willys Edition of the JK, in the flesh for the first time and really think it could suit the utilitarian theme I have always been going for. Gives a bit of heritage flavour as well. I would run it with black painted guards to break up the colour a bit and keep the 30-40's look as well. Muck like it is above with the black flares. Maybe could even do the grille black too? Or just the centre section like it was stock? I have been told a lot to leave it unpainted to show the metal work but not very practical though as even a clear will not seal it properly. But thought it might be a good idea to now complete it and get my engineer's approval and road registered before paint. Then for the summer at least, run it without paint to make sure everything is perfect before stripping it down to be painted. The other recent colour was a burgundy and black, but might be too classy a colour for the Truck my wife feels and think she could be right.

Some years ago (maybe 6-7) you were leaning toward a greenish style colour and I will say that green is pretty nice.
I think you r truck would look good in it that colour. Try Photo-shopping it in that colour? If you drive it on the street in metal finish I'm coming down to Melbourne to see it in the flesh. |

I don't have the skills to photoshop it unfortunately. Will certainly be driving it around on the streets here for the first year so you are most welcome to see it. Might even take it interstate for a rod run so long as there is no rain forecast.
