Martin, get yourself a Zeus book from any good engineers merchants and it has a wealth of comparison/conversion information for drills, taps, PCD's and screw thread info.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for that, I'm ok with 1/8 and 1/16ths etc, its those darn decimal place ones I don't know like this..... 0.401 x 25.4 = 10.3254 mm. I have a way to cheat, I use a digital caliper, I set it metric to the size I'm checking then switch to imperial, that's the dummies way. So 0.0401 is 1mm then, I can grasp that.

Oooh, that's engineering, not my strong point, all those number start to move around on the page when I look at them. I'll have look though, you do need these resources.

What would you pros suggest, byuing Danair AH-15 Auto hammer or cheap palm nailer and making your own tools for it? If you want this type of hand held planishing tool (big difference in price). Will palm nailer hit hard enough?
