Default Spot weld aluminium

New Lazze tip passed on from "old Italian" guy via student. If you shape or form Al, you should take a look. See ...

I am so going to try this on Monday.

What I don't understand, is why does it work?

I also don't understand why you can't buy metal tips, and simply use those, instead of the copper units.

Ian.

It doesn't look like he even used very much heat to get the joint. I'm impressed!

Default Easy

Its simple Ian, its "resistance welding" and your using the steel to cause resistance/heat .
It made me feel old, my journeyman when i was a 2nd year apprentice taught us that one 40yrs ago

First of all great tip but....

DON'T use REGULAR sTEEL!!!!

This will contaminate your aluminium!!!

So if you do this use Stainless steel strips around 0.6mm thick.!
And about 1cm height and about 15 cm long and after spotwelding you can easely peal them off.
