Oh ok well thats good. But gotta love these old machines as much as the new ones would be great the old ones work just as well with a little bit of maintenance.

They were popular in body shops in the sixties & seventies but problems and also the introduction of mig welders ended that. Many times the spot welds these welders made failed and caused comebacks so they fell out of favor. The bottom line is to get really sound spot welds you need 2 arms to press / force the molten metal together. The arms also have to be very stiff to keep the tips aligned which is why the small hand held Miller spot welders don’t work very well with deep reach arms. ~ John Buchtenkirch
