Default Docol R8 tubing

I have been reading more and more about Docol R8 steel tubing.

Does any one have experience with fabricating this? Is it available locally in Minneapolis?

I have not used it, but from what I understand, it is kind of like a lower alloyed, yet higher tensile strength 4130N tube, and is probably more forgiving (in terms of welding) because of the low alloy. The "8" in R8 refers to a 800MPa tensile strength. It is an approved material for NHRA SFI 25.1-25.5 chassis construction.

It is manufactured in Sweden by SSAB, which has a very high reputation for quality and consistency in all of their materials.
