Ira,
Who's going to weld all that tube? Ask Wray about bringing in Jordan Scowary if he doesn't already have someone, or if you're not intending to weld it yourself.

Get my disc of photos?

Thanks Steve!! Thanks Bill. Not sure on the who yet and still not on the photos, although forgot to tweak Wray this weekend. Too many weddings up there this past weekend, not a room to be had Weekend became what seemed like one very long day with a few hours on the shop couch Sat night. Here's what I got to show for it. Started work on the cockpit floor backbone/ side rails. Not an illusion, its all canted,

Ira, if the quality of your metal shaping is anything like your chassis building, this car is going to be AWESOME!

Thanks for sharing the build.

I a big fan of the Atlantic and I think you're doing a great job! Door jambs may be your biggest challenge.

Thanks Kerry!!! My metal shaping skills are at best considered a work in progress, but I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to build in the masters shop and get his advice whenever he walks by--so there is some hope!!!

Thanks Bill! I too love the Atlantic. This is definitely going to be a hot rodded, badass version of the Atlantic, so taking some liberties--the chassis design is to effectively channel the body to bring the height down. Widened the body four inches, relaxed the slope of the windshield all to fit my aesthetic version. I've been worried, dreaming, thinking about the door jams for weeks and how am I going to get that 3/4" tube to sit right with all those compound turns. I have a few solid weekends left on the chassis as far as I want to take it right now (planning on saving most tabs, hangers mounts, footboxes, etc till later) and then will hit the substructure -- so running out of time for an epiphany.

Steve, can't wait!! Always welcome. Just shoot me a text ahead of time to make sure its not one of those weekends I've gone to visit one of my kids

Ira

Thanks Will, really appreciate it.

Weekend progress on the cockpit. I had the burned out exhaust from v1.0 and with just minor tweaks will be replicating with racing mufflers, racing CATs and dumping out in front of the wheels. I left room to come out through the body, but may come under when we get there. The two rectangles to the flank of each muffler will house motec coolers, supercharger on driver's side, trans oil on passenger. Picked up a couple of gussets to firm up the backbone of this hot rod which I'll have to trim and get in --Wray's no fan of webs . Going to start getting tabs, gussets and brackets cut on the water jet soon. The hope is if I have it all laid out from the v1.0 experience, the install will go fairly quickly.

This was the exhaust from v1.0:

Started on the front end and mocking up mounting points for the lower control arms. Plan is to build from the bottom up. Managed to get the lower rails bent and in and then built prototype mounts for the lower control arms and to hold the hubs in proper position. A college kid who stopped by Wray's shop and will be working there for credit next semester, then helped me get the temp hub jigs and the mounts into solidworks. Cut test parts on the plasma cutter and sent the files off to the waterjet guy to cut in 3/8th. The LC's will mount below the rail and the four C's will lock over the tube. The Plan is with the hubs and lower control arms in position to build to the upper control arm mounts. Spent an inordinate amount of time playing with pick-up points on the racing geometry app-still playing with the upper points.
