so I said that it is to build a perfect body or parts thereof for geoff most natural thing on the world and he makes no sensation or show it.
though he is a great artist, he does not care.

If I remember correctly, the only piece of powered equipment Geoff uses is a small electric metal shear that was given to him by Len Pritchard of Williams and Pritchard fame. That and an electric kettle that always seemed to be on the boil.

Thanks for the pictures. Really nice.

I tried to spot what dollys he had but I found only one stake dolly. I guess he had put them away or I just didn't spot them. I like to believe one can tell a lot from looking at the handtools laying around a certain job. I'm paticular interested in the dolly craftsmen use for planishing their welds.

Did you spot them during your visit? I was there for only one day to touch up my wheeling during my holiday with my family.

Not surprisingly Geoff's supply of dollies and forming heads is smaller than you might think for someone who has produced so many different car bodies over the years.

Here are some photos I took. These are in the cabinet against the back wall in an area that is pretty dark and easy to miss.

not only of lotus and jaguar body has geoff built in perfekt finish.
very many other bodies. aston to .... zagato to
also pictures of highly polished mirror finish cisitalia D46 body seen.
crazy how perfect surface to detail.

Frank when plenishing a weld I normally use a
slightly flatter dolly to star off with,( not to flat) then when the weld is crashed , I rise the area and finish off with the right curvature dolly and flipper

Aha! That's a great detail. So when crushing the weld the alignment of the hit point VS the dolly is less critical then with a dolly that just is a bit too round. Then you bump the weld up and blend it nicely in?
