The fat tire and wheel are mounted and had to installed simultaneously with the inner fender guard. Phew!, That was hard for one guy to do! Anyhow, decided on the final shape of the wheel opening and trimmed leaving just enough for the wired edge. Now comes the scary part for me, the wired edge. I have gotten some cool tools from Rock Hill Will that I've been practicing with. Here's the pic before I do the edge.

Before I get all stressed out over wired wheel openings, I should get all the hard to get to elements of the fenders done. Parts like brake and turn signal housings need to be nailed down. Also, I've decided to change the license plate recess to match American plates. Here are pics of the old vs the new.

Looking good Mike.
I own a 1969 roadster that I am restoring.
Interesting to follow your build.

Thanks Dave I'm familiar with your project as well. I'm continually amazed at how uneven the body of my Jag is. Maybe from previous crashes, sitting in the dirt for for a bunch of years and or shoody original assembly. Build quality of the sixties wasn't very good anywhere. When I get 2 panels for each side shaped, it's still a lot work to make them fit the remainder of the body. It seems I have to balance symmetry with fit. My panels are very symmetrical but the car is not.

Facing the same problems with my 48 Willys. Differences left to right all over the place.
