Default More pics from Day 1

Here's a few more shots we took today...

George and John checking out the equipment that Brian brought along with him. That's an air powered shrinker on the tailgate with the truck style brake actuator mounted on it.

Frank and Tom in the shop. Tom is another veteran from way back, having attended every meet over here since they began in 2006.

Pugsy knocking off another foil tape buck to pull a flexible tape pattern from.

Pugsy, George, and Doug checking out the crease we wanted to fix on Doug's 68 Cougar fender.

Doug, Chris, George, (and Pugsy) did a fine job ironing out that crease with a shrinking disc and some slapper/dolly work.

Frank tries out the Henrob.

Here's the Saturday crew.

More to come tomorrow, we'll be back at it by 9am for another day!

Ken

Looks like a great meet Ken. Fine weather, beautiful country, friends, and hands black with carbon...just doesn't get much better than that.

Default Day 2 pictures

Hi Guys,

Well folks, I am absolutly whooped. I never really got caught up in the phsyical fitness craze, so there's nothing like a regional meet to wear a guy out! I'm glad I booked next week off work, because I don't think I feel like doing too much for the next day or two.

Overall, it was another terrific regional meet, making it our 5th consecutive year of metalshaping events since our first meet in Southern Ontario back in 2006. We had the regular crew of die-hards who come back again year after year, as well as lots of new faces this year as well. Thanks to all who attended for making it all happen again guys, I had a great time. Can't wait for the next one.

I was pretty pre-occupied working on the gas tank and didn't take too many pictures today, but here's a few shots of our Sunday.

That's Bob from Cleveland in the white tee shirt. Bob's visit adds Ohio to the list of US states where metalshapers have come from to attend our regional meets up here in Ontario, joining NY and Michigan from past events. Thanks for joining us Bob!

Mel from London dropped in again this year with his buddy Jeff. It was a pleasure to have you guys over, thanks for making the trip.

Paul and I went to work on an unfinished project of mine this morning, some of you may remember this tank buck and partially shaped side panels I worked on a couple of years ago. Paul worked on a bowl on his rookie day yesterday, so today he took on the more advanced task of shaping a partially completed tank side and fitting it closer to the tape pattern. I took on the other side, and also shaped up the ribbon that runs down the top center. Between the two of us, we got the parts close enough to stick together with tape for a quick look by the end of the afternoon. Thanks for the help Paul, it didn't take much effort to finish up the part you were working on, you had it pretty close!

Closer view of the roughly fitted tank parts. I just need to make a simple roll around a piece of 4" ABS for a tunnel, so we'll be practicing our welding on this thing pretty soon.

Looking forward to seeing you guys again at the next one!

Ken

Ken, rest up and start planning for next year. Your events look like they are a lot of fun. Wish I was closer so I could attend. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

Ken

It's hard to remember to take pictures at meets. The few that I have been to I had all intentions of taking pictures but there is so much going on. Then you realize at the end dang I did not take any pictures.

Looks like your meet would be great fun.

Also I remember reading your tank build but I for got why the tunnel opening was so big. Can you repost what it looked like with the buck on the frame?
