Love to take that tour! My next shop tour will be at Mohamed Aoudi's new coach building school in Tunis, Tunisia in a few weeks. Looking forward to that!

You probably not will understand that. Imagine that you're in company, and you're doing the same for 40 years. Even a slight change, the shape of the light, the switch must be put into the plan and maybe in 5-10 years will come into production. You are commuting on a bike that you have that you have from your grandfather and every change of your low work performance will scare you. You do not want to think over your work because you're so used to it. Would you enjoy it? Then your admiration is in place.

I had the opportunity to get to know the inner mentality of such a prominent society. Product quality, people's mentality, the city's mentality. Political leadership. Technical innovations are decided on the basis of political tasks. Depending on how the important person slept. Terrible, demotivating.

In one such company. It was a working group of prominent inviolable workers. They dranks alkohol regularly. Then they tightened the imbus screws with a hammer. No one cannot sayd anything them to say anything because they were under was protection.

But I have to admit that if the working people obey all these stupidity, they can work for a little wages and in great fear for many years. But it's boring.

Jaroslav,

When I was 19 I hitch-hiked "behind the Iron Curtain". I am under no illusions as to the horrors of the Soviet Socialist system. However, I am glad I went and saw it first-hand.

If I were to visit the ZIL factory I would do so not as an act of "support" for the system, but as an act of engaging in the "real world", and seeing, what is now, an historical curiosity.

Socialism sucks.

Default Meritorious job.

Bill. I hate stupidity since my youth. Since my youth, I have been taught how to understand things. They really did not have to gived me advices. I have my own brain. The collective view of me has little influence. I've been watching the stupidity for a long time, and I have not understood some things until today. I was told that I think so much. Yes, I mean separately.
Sometimes I have a problem with it. It is good that you are doing this research. I understand your scientific interest. I think Cass would tell you exactly about the stupidity and the not need of talent.
Foolishness continues at this time. I like this forum. Technical ideas are shared here. If I need advice in our regions, I get very reluctant responses. People want to keep their secrets. They feel privileged if they know something. Indispensable. Yes, but it is only applicable in special cases. They feel there will be live another 100 years. They will not. Recently, one person gave me your experience in 40 years. Well, I really appreciate it. In the end, he told me that if I did not good listen to him well or I would be stupid to I never can use will it.
Bill you collecting fragments of consciousness in the context of time, it's a meritorious job.

I know the sixth special ZIL shop pretty well . When I was just starting to get acquainted with the restoration of classic cars , I tried to get there . It was about 12 years ago, and things weren't very good there . The former Moscow mayor supported the life of the plant with financial injections and municipal orders , but the result was bad . By that time , the low wages of workers and specialists, and the abuse of leadership, along with the low quality of the main products-commercial vehicles have already made ZIL a relic in the market. In fact, the plant employed semi-pensioners and veterans who were expecting a quick retirement, and people from Central Asia . (Note that the cemetery of ideas called ZIL and my neighbor-an engineer who worked there 20 years earlier, in the late eighties . Even then, he said that working in the Bureau, whose projects are unlikely to be implemented , psychologically difficult . At home he drew a limousine in the style of Toyota crown))), the plant is compared with a dinosaur . ) It was a very charming dinosaur ... Central factory alley reminded me of the passage Through the valley of the Tombs in Egypt. It seemed enough to know the secret word and the shadow of the thirties will return . If I had enough money, it would have been possible to release a copy of Packard in the early 30s .A friend of mine who got rich in construction thought so , too , but might as well kick a dead horse ... When at the end of the Millenial plant lost the competition for a small party of ceremonial phaetons to competitors from Nizhny Novgorod , from the GAZ group , and soon the mayor of Moscow was replaced , it became the inevitable end . Moscow developers have long looked greedily at two square kilometers on the river almost in the city center . The sixth workshop stands today, it is rented together with equipment specializing in the restoration of old ZIS and ZIL small company . I'm not too fond of , sometimes I'll check with the factory administration ,when you can pick up 3 Eckold machine like a vulture circling prey is still alive )) the Central alley is no more. They build residential and business buildings there . The final defeat is scheduled for 2022 . I hope to pull out a press Dualform 9 . The only difficulty of non-financial nature is that this toy weighs 160 tons ( . P.S. The Tour is possible in principle , for me it is a return to legends of my youth, and not too jolly place .

As for the transfer of experience , in the complex and demanding a lot of experience in the construction of custom cars, the plant ZIL was not a specific system . The student helped an experienced worker as a helper, and the ability of the teacher and the student depended on the result . At the same time , as I was told past this school , often grandfathers were in no hurry to share knowledge , experienced patience and pride of the young , saying that they had suffered in their youth and not this . Many trainees did not become masters even under favorable conditions in the best previous years . But in restoration workshops appreciate the past shool of ZIL . There are fewer of us .

Default Like a children's on sand toys.

Oleg. Yes, it was a special time. Political leadership persons handled the finances entirely on their own, regardless of the outcome. Sometimes I do not understand that these companies managed to finish a product. I believe it was thanks to the unnamed employees who have lived in this hostile atmosphere for a lifetime. Complete destruction of human and technical values. Popírání základní logiky.
Oleg, I think we agree in the basic view. When I think about it, I still lack my logic. Like a children's on sand toys. Always a stupid child is a leader and decides and the other children obey. At the end there is no construction of build and the toys are broken ..... The parents of that fool always protects and give not the other children are never apologized.

So now you need to shape nice things that make sense.
