Kent,

On the Simplex tank what solder are you using on the seams? I would think that solder wouldn't grab the galvanized metal.

Hi Tom,

I like to keep things simple, so I just buy some plumbing grade 50/50 solid solder (no core) and some non-acid flux - No-Korrode is a common brand.
I just clean the metal with 91% alcohol, apply the solder paste, and warm it with either electric or torch, and dab on some solder when the flux visibly activates. Warning: do NOT overheat the metal. If the solder does not flow then flux again and brush it to get the bright look of tinned metal.
