I have read some of the information in OSHAs guide to prevention, it was of interest because I have sprayed drums of etching primer both solvent and alcohol base in various situations. I hope that I am one of the people that it doesn't affect. As far as stainless I was under the impression it would take a really polluted environment to qualify as a acute exposure problem, chronic exposure at the minimum level would take a career of exposure. That being said my cousin is having to wear air supplied hood and clip on a air sampling device once a month. Too much exposure and he gets moved out of the stainless fab shop and into the mild steel area.

I never researched it to find out how true it is but I had a New York City union welder tell me the absolute worst is breathing smoke & fumes from plasma cutting stainless . He said they covered it in length at one of his union meetings. ~ John Buchtenkirch
