Tools are definitely in topic...as long as they are sheet metal shaping tools, power or hand. We're not much into blacksmith power hammers, stamping presses, refinishing anvils, snakes in cars, kings, etc...you get the idea.

Good point Chris, the heads up subforum was intended to be wiped regularily...we haven't done that recently but will.

Just a reference to a couple of the off topic threads in the MetalMeet chat forum.

Not forgotten at all Chris & Marty - it seemed like a bit of a dig that could be construed as getting personal (for those in the know). Potentially going down the road of what I thought we were trying to avoid on this site......
I guess the point is that strong personalities, and an inefficient means of communication can easily make for "misunderstandings". Hope we can avoid that kind of thing on here....

Ok, but the "king" thing, or, more to the point, where it came from has a bit to do with this site. And, it is nothing personal AT ALL with Kirk. The crowning of the King of MetalMeet was Kirk's tongue-in-cheek way of diffusing one of the debacles going on over there. Situations like the one that resulted in Kirk crowning himself as King are ones we would like to avoid around here.

I hope that makes some sense.

I think the 4 of us (John, Joe, Kerry and myself) have similar, but different, reasons for our involvement here. We have had all of ONE "board meeting" - a conference call to discuss a pressing situation. We don't really have much need for that, since we tend to think alike and, being on all the time allows us to communicate almost immediately most days.

Oh, and I like being the resident geek

Wasn't intended to be a dig at Kirk at all. Rather an example of off topic 'humor' that we want to avoid.
