Hi Steve!
Trumpet shapes is a bit tricky, alot goingon in this shapes, always interesting to find the balance how far stretching can go before thickness or tearing will be a problem.

follow the progress and ask questions, most people dont ask and they dont learn either.

one question often leads to another, thats how I try to speak with my students

Okej!

The design in this case include alot, it should be three major pieces in the trumpet part, they must have a lap joint, they will be riveted later on.
it will need a "ring" at the end who will be up to the ceiling, the ring will have some details.

Hmm, how to proceed, wish way should I go?
It must be quick (many pieces), it must end up with similar pieces, they must have a tight fit for the riveting.

Hammerform is my given way for this kind of stuff!

This was my solution, 2" thick plastic discs stacked with a tube as a spindle.

and then turned the package in the lathe, old school bit in a oldschool lathe.

Time to cut the blanks, as close as possible is the goal, less enemys is the way to go!

Still interesting?
Questions?

Stay tuned!

Good to see you back Per. "A big cup of stubborn", now that's a very good tool.
