First time up for an old fabricator
This forum is a bit confusing for an old dude like me, but I guess now I'm
supposed to tell ya'll a little somethin about me. I'm retired now for 14 years from the Fermi National Accelerator Lab. I was a Sr. Tech there for 30 years. Prior to that I ran the welding fabrication portion of a family business for a decade. Dad was an old time mechanic trained in the 20's so my brother and I were always messing with cars. Over the years I've raced midgets, built and flew a biplane in aerobatic competition and since retirement in 2015, have had a couple of early 50's Chevy pickup trucks the I've restored (not hot rods) and drive weather permitting. I've ridden motorcycles (not HD) for 62 years now and still have a couple that I ride. For the last several years I've been building a Cyclekart, which will have an aluminum body copied after a 1929 Riley Grand prix car. For the body work I've built a bead roller, an English wheel, many hand tools, i.e. slappers, T-posts, shot bags, blocking hammers, etc. I've joined the group to see what sort of secrets I can learn from this forum. I'm 77 and am looking forward to another 23 years and still have a lot to learn. Denny G Sandwich, IL
