Frank, from a longevity view, would do the same but in future would rather use the buck more to weld up the panels to sit proportionally correct as opposed to see if the shape is good. For that I would like to stretch and hammer out the shapes on a hard mold. What I am aiming at somewhere in the future (read finances) is a mirror finish because this way takes way too much time and effort.
I think the thin walled metal buck is a bit more accurate in areas where there are sharp drop-offs in the curves like around the radiator opening.

No, I haven't. Had been working offshore for a while and now in between contracts but when getting the chance, push hard to get things done. I'd much rather have a job close to home and enjoy every thing I make even if it takes much longer that compromise on the fun I should be having. That said, it is still very satisfying when things come together.

Do you guys have links to your projects?
