Wow, that really did pay down nice and flat Jack. Great skill and paint.

I let the paint set for a couple days before cut and buff. Below is what I use. A razor scraper, a small chunk cut from a fine single cut flat file, a small sanding block and some 600# sand paper, orbital sander with a flat hook and loop flat pad and 1,000#, and an interface pad for the 2,000#.
After knocking down the dust nibs with the blade, then the file I didn't need to sand the spots with the 600#. They laid down smooth enough where the 1,000 would finish flattening them. I hook a 10ft length of surgical hose to the garden hose and use just a trickle of water while I'm sanding. Make sure there is no dust, grit or anything else on the finish. After the 1,000# I rinsed and dried the surface looking for any trouble spots or missed spots. Took care of them and did the same routine with 2,000#. I use a few steps in the buffing process, but there are as many methods as there are painters. I started with an aggressive wool pad and 3M 05954 Super Duty Compound. This knocks the sanding scratches down FAST. Next is CSI Ceram-X polish on a fine (blue) wool pad. This brings up the gloss pretty quickly. Last is CSI D1 detailer and swirl remover on an orbital polisher with a 6" finishing foam pad. It leaves a swirl free high gloss even on black. Here's a link to a short video. I put these on youtube first, then add the link here so I'm not dumping the whole file here. Video link https://youtu.be/MmIuxJ2AHk0

Thanx for the "insider info" on your sanding/buffing technics. Paint looks a foot deep.
