Small bench top wheel
I had a rush job come in to repair a dent in a spotlight.
Spotlight to small to fit in my wheel, so I thought I would build a small wheel like Peter has in his shop, and wheel the dent out. Before I got started building the bench top wheel, I went to a local motorcycle swap meet, looking for something to make the adjuster out of. I found something that I thought would work, then I spotted this, in a bucket of valve spring compressors. The guy didn't know what it was, and didn't care, as it was just taking up space. So I gave him a few dollars for it, and headed home. I grabbed a few pieces of scrap steel and welded up a stand for the roller. Now I had my small bench top wheel! This is the only shot I took of the repairs, as I got side tracked talking to the owner of the lights. On the wheel, the upper anvil is brass, I thought it would be steel. This thing is heavy, 7-8 kilos, cast iron frame. Works good!

Call me jealous, that is sure a nice designed hand held wheel, unfortunately there is slim to no chance to finde something like that in germany/europe.

Watch your auctions over there. A wheel extremely similar to the one above just sold here days ago on ebay for $175, which is less than many of the cheap bench tops: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-MINI...p2047675.l2557 Also search under "vintage fender roller", not everybody uses "English wheel". Here's what turns up under "vintage fender roller", sold a few days ago also: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-1940s-Er..._Tools&vxp=mtr
