Default Introduction: Just Lookin

Hello,

My name is Rick and I live in Washington state, USA. I have always been interested in welding and metal working (metalworking?). I found sheet metal a few years ago on the web and have been reading, watching videos, and deciding whether to take the plunge into another hobby.

I want to learn more than a non-member can see, and start small. As I was recently told, yes a bowl is a good first project. It gives you one or more chances to learn and one or more new places to store nuts, bolts, and screws. Ok. That's all I needed to know... Time to start.

Welcome to the forum, Rick. Lots of us here are professional amateur metalworkers...

Default Hi Rick

Rick came to the Wine Country Meet (a 14 hour drive one way) loaded with questions. He got more than a few answered I think. Other than Bill Longyard and Ben VonBerlo, if there had been a long distance award, he would have won.

He told me he'd been a lurker and I stressed that he needed to join. It's good to see that you did.

Default Thanks for the warm welcome

Steve, Cliffrod, and Peter - Thank you all for the warm welcome. Now I can re-read all your posts and see the pictures.

John - Thank you for the warm welcome, the kind words, and the fabulous get together at your shop. Lots of questions were answered and a lot of information was freely offered... but I'll always have more questions.

Aloha.
