Default Chevy Fleetline 1942 Custom Pickup

I build this project in Moscow
Customer agrees to realize my fantasy

work began in the summer of 2014

I'll start from the beginning

I drew on the paper form window

cut out of plywood core and cavity and clamped between the sheet metal

after forming on the machine that's what happened

then manually hammers finish form

could be better would be obtained by a different method? I first did this

ps: can I broke some rules of the forum, if so please correct me

Sergey, back in the "Kustom Kar" days, they used to do what was called a fadeaway fender on those Chevys. It took some of the heaviness from the stock front end.

On your sketch, the flow of the roof and rear profile above the fender is perfect. If you matched that line on the fadeway of the front fender into the doors and rear quarter, it might look like this...

Just a thought.

Kerry Pinkerton, I agree with you, but I deliberately did not write about the design concept, because this site is not about hot rod and custom, but about metalshaping

it makes me wonder, though probably already too late because a lot has already been done

Moreover, I want to save more original forms and the rear portion does not exist

i.e. form the rear portion is not yet known
I want to somehow bring it to the front of the form (may be)

Sergey, it is OK to get into design as long as it is part of an end-to-end project. If you intend to document the complete build than it is fine to discuss design issues. In the same way, you can document chassis building if it is part of a complete build including sheet metal. MANY of the people who are members here have a goal of someday building a car from scratch. In order to do that, they need to understand how to do the internal structures that are not technically metal shaping.

I like the shape of the rear fenders on your second sketch.

from the outset

in 2014 I went to Moscow and met there with friends lovers hot rods

and Oleg Zubkov introduced me to Max, who spent several years trying to build a Chevy pickup.

summer I saw a Chevy in this state

Max found in the depths of Russia only the front part of the body and so it was decided to build a pickup truck.
Max put the body on the frame of Lincoln 1990s

I first decided to minimize the height of the car
and lowered the body relative to the frame about 3 inches
and also lowered the roof by 3 inches
and removing the springs and lower the frame at the lowest possible operating position
and in this position began to draw design project
