Default 1929 Dodge Couple Grille Shell Repair

I have someone requesting that I help in repairing a 1929 Dodge Coupe Grille Shell... it is ROUGH at best... There is a center rib that has been removed from his example, and the entire thing is very rusty and pitted... I have not actually laid eyes on it but I am tending to think this will have to have a couple pieces he wants the hole to remain for the old crank handle... even though it will not be used... Any suggestions on how to tackle this repair? it might be easier to build a new grille shell...

Really too hard to know until you see it with clean metal. It might only be some surface rust and therefore better to repair what you have.

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.

Oh Yes I know THAT, looking for suggestions on how to make the rib, if I can't save what is there I can re-make it but the RIB is the part I would like suggestions on and it won't be made from this it will be 18 Ga Cold rolled Steel.
