Default Round tube mounting ends

Hi all, been away from the forum for quite awhile but getting back into the mood to try metal shaping again after a less than successful start. How do you flatten the end of thin wall round tubing with a rounded or v-shape for strength? This would be for a motorcycle saddlebag bracket and be done at both ends. The flattened end would have a hole drilled for a mounting bolt. Just flattening the tubing straight across leaves it pretty weak. I searched for previous answers but probably didn't use the correct terminology. Thanks...........Jack.

Many saddle bag brackets use a piece of tubing perpendicular to the bracket on the ends for the bolt to pass through. perhaps you could weld in some rod ends as well. I would be concerned that the crease at the flattened end would be the focal point for vibrations, and the start of a crack..
