Default ERCO 476 - Sold

I have an Erco 476 that's for sale. Machine is complete with shrink tooling and operator's manual. Converted to a top mounted 3 phase motor and mechanical vari speed system. Operated when purchased many years ago. Needs and deserves a complete restoration. Too many projects and not enough time for this one. Machine is located in the San Diego area, 92065. Weighs about 4,000#.

I'm offering it to this group for $3,000 before posting elsewhere.

Please call or email if interested, I don't text.

Cute machine .... early s/n ... mechanical speed control is intriguing .... wondered if those could be taught to stop at the top of the stroke instead of stopping "roulette" style.

My 476 is 2 speed. The slow is comfortable but the fast is FAST. It is a powerful machine with a massive flywheel. It would take a serious brake to stop it in mid cycle. I have occasionally spun the flywheel by hand to get a single shrink. It uses standard Erco dies which are not as varied as an Eckold. I have an Eckold as well but I always go to the 476 for making constant radius parts for the ease of use and speed control.

That machine looks to be a good buy.

Be sure to pull the drawer out and remove the tray that it slides on. Reach down into the oil well and fish around. You may be surprised to find jaw sets that fell out of the drawer and down into the well over the years like I found with mine.
