First Chopper tank
Hi I'm from Brisbane Australia and am pretty new to metal shaping.
i have slowly built up a collection of metal shaping tools including a few i made/modified. This is my first attempt at building a motorcycle tank. below is a couple of my tools including a blocking hammer i made for under $15 out of some spare washers and a garden pick. Flames on my stump because 'hotrod' Gas and oil tank I'm currently working on. I didn't use a buck just started with a base and built my way up. I have a oval jaw deep throat shrinker stretcher which has made life alot easier. I basically only used my english wheel, shrinker, and hammer and dolly to get this shape. Ground down tacks and a quick de-oxidizer and looks as good as new. I quickly cut out the underside of the tank with electric shears leaving only a 15mm or so edge to keep it all square while i hammer and dollied the radius'. took 5-6 hours to get to this stage. this is the first ever tank ive made (i'm 21) and i dont even have a bike to put it on haha. once i get my hands on a frame i will make a tunnel and a new base for it. i will hopefully be having my first go at a tig this coming weekend at my mates workshop. Thanks for having looking, looking for constructive criticism or helpful hints. thanks guys and gals.

Nice start on the chopper, keep us updated on your progress. There's a few of us motorcyclists here. I'm not as active as I would like to be but maybe in time,......
