Hi from the Top End of Australia
I live at Humpty Doo, 40km south of Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia. My main occupation is in the civil construction field, and in my spare time, I am an active volunteer firefighter and Captain of the Koolpinyah Volunteer Fire Brigade in rural Darwin.
When time permits, I also try to pursue my love of the restoration of classic commercial vehicles and old fire trucks. At present I have a 1958 Morris JB ex-bakery van under restoration, and have just purchased an ex-Darwin Fire Brigade 1949 Dennis F1 fire truck. I also have an ex-NT Fire Brigade 1964 Dennis F34 complete with a 50ft wheeled escape awaiting restoration. I am a member of the Motor Vehicle Enthusiasts Club (MVEC) in Darwin. To aid my restoration projects, I need to learn new skills in metal shaping ... the greater the skill I can gain, the less onerous the task of preparation and painting of the projects will become later! I will probably ask some pretty dumb questions from time to time , but will also offer what I can to the Forum . Cheers ... Bugly
