Default world's narrowist wheel tub

708 25.jpgI promised Kerry I'd post a few beginners photos so here's a machine guard I built the other week
Who would look at a post on making a machine guard ? Wheel tubs are way cooler
We got 2.0mm cold rolled laser cut and I used a piece of 16 mm rod as a form
Because it had an arch cut for the shaft to go through I had to tack a cross bar to create a pivot point. The rest is self explanatory.
Sorry about the welding. Our tig runs well for everyone but me !
Must be the machine.....
Cheers John

Nice work there, John. I admire your sense of humor, your work, and your comment on insanity.

Hi Will

Insanity is offering to host a meet when one has never even been to one !
If you can give me any pointers I'd be mighty grateful.

Thanks for sharing so much on this site. I am stunned that so many metalshapers, in particular the pros who earn their daily bread from the art are so willing to help us new guys.
In my industry you keep any advantage you have close to your chest

Thank-you for your kind words also. I think next year EKDAVE and I will come over for the ROUND-UP rather than put one on over here ! I'm just too phlegmatic by nature for all this organising. Its meant to be my hobby !!!
Take care

Thanks John

John, if two 'Aussies' agree to attend, this 'Redneck' will agree to host another one.

Let me know the dates Will. I'm in !! (Promised 20 years ago to take my wife to San Francisco one day. 2015 it is}
I'll get another Aussie to join the adventure.

So just send through the dates and a mud-map of how to get to Rock Hill.

Can't wait

Cheers John

I need a guard for my diamond saw, it spins a 16" blade and only needs clearance for the blade. Oh, I need to remove the outside to change blades.

I'd say yours would work --- except for the blade cganging part.

Nice work.
