Default Modeling

Ray,

Before you get too deep in working with a store bought model, make sure it's dimensions are truly to scale. I was attempting to do the same thing and got off track because the model wasn't accurate. Ended up using a paint program on the computer.

Ray, I like the car but the windshield says Corvette to me. Can you change to a more period correct windshield?

I knew going in that the windshield was a design issue. My two concerns are that the vin# on a vette is half way up the post under the glass and that my 6'7" frame puts my head to the top of the header .............. so no cool low wrap around windshield for me, Ray

If you found another windshield that could be cut to the right height, could you cut and change the angle on the Corvette A pillar but still keep the VIN tag?

How about this?
All I did was make the A-Pillar and Top Header thinner and rounded off the corners of the pillar and glass. Windshield is still the same height.
Peace,
Chaz

OK, so the duct tape and foam are off the car.............no more beer and design at the same time!
I have started on a wire frame buck to get some more ideas. I have been practicing my gas welding on ally and i'm getting it slowly. I had a buddy tig weld some 3003 scaps together and i gasssed some together and then pounded the crap out of them. The gas weld did better. The 33003 sure shapes nice compared to 20ga CRS. Ray

Glad to hear you are practicing gas welding, it will pay you dividends when you start to make your body. Get good before you work on the body proper. Post some photos of you practice pieces and I am sure you will get help and advice if you want it.
