Thanks Steve, New York (and most other states) have a process to first get a VIN for a "Home Built Car." Process is first have to take for a weigh in, then supply paperwork showing required details like emissions based upon the year of the motor, DOT logo'd windshield, various lights, bumpers and padded dash and visors, then you need to bring in for a VIN inspection--and after about six months of doing that, with a VIN in hand you can got to motor vehicle for title and registration and the typical annual inspection. Interestingly enough, on the last build the BMW S65 actually has 9 throttle bodies, 8 for each cylinder and a ninth for cold idle. The Cosworth SQ6M ECU I was running could only run inputs for the 8 main and couldn't get the idle actuator to work to pass emissions, until someone I was talking with pointed out that the BMW and Volkswagen idle actuators are the same Bosch housing, but the VW electronics was capable of being flashed. In the end the Volkswagen was a perfect fit and the flash and reprogram let the Cosworth run it and the emissions crisis was solved. There's always a way!!! Chris, looking forward. Quote:

Very interested in that. Please take lots of photo. I'll either have diamond pleated or engine turned firewall cover on the roadster

Back again Ira. You are making great progress with body and chassis.
Nice to have some help along the way. Just a FIY, some of the pics prior to post #57 didn't show up today.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. Kerry, will take lots of pics. Steve, current year emissions would probably be a real challenge for most. In keeping with street legal race car, mine will have a map with the emissions disabled for the track.
Got the rear mostly tied in this weekend, with just a few tweaks and rear upper suspension mounts left to design and get in, its about ready to be welded up and on to the next stage. Redid the upper most cockpit bars to gain a little more head room closer to the buck. I'll come back to brackets, mounts and pedal box much later in the project when the drivetrain is going in. Should be born as a roller and ready for some panels before the end of the month.

Thanks Chris, 2 inches at the peak, which is a tremendous amount in this case!!!

Ira. Great photos and a great project!
I was wondering if you might be able to get some photos of the white Coupe next to the red Cobra and also the wire wheeled single-seater chassis with the nose cowl wheeled and sat on the front of the car, seen a few pictures back on Jan 16th? Both cars look very interesting but are too small to make out any details in the pics. You seem to be surrounded by beautiful cars!

Took a week vacation (mostly, lots of conference call interuptions) in the shop. With some great help from Mike and Ben who work in Wray's shop got the chassis mostly welded up from the top and flipped yesterday for the bottom, the rear pumpkin in, started the superlegera structure and much fun and greatly appreciated the help overlapping vacations in the shop with current metal shaper of the month Steve (Toreadorixit) and Matt. His camper is awesome!!! As noted, Steve is a wizard of scanning and rhino and we got the rear upper mounts modeled and off for water jet cutting. Although I have some more development on the upper cage, triangulating the rear and a couple of more bars up front, the plan is to put those bits aside until there's further development on the shape for right now. Immediate plan is for the underside to get welded and then maybe a day to get it to roller stage.
