Default Question Regarding Power Hammer

I have been researching power hammers and want to make my own. I believe Kerry Pinkertons homemade power hammer that was used in the hot dog die Youtube video is the best one I have seen. I would like to acquire plans if at all possible. Would anyone know how I could get these? If someone would let me know it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Pete

Welcome Pete. Now that you have full access, you can see all the info on the tool builds. The machine shown in the hotdog die video is not a power hammer but rather a reciprocating machine. There is a significant difference and a lot of confusion about the differences.

I would not again build a machine using a scotch yoke design but would use a supported connecting rod like we did on the dedicated thumbnail machines.

Everything you need to know about how to build one of these is in the build diarys. You can scale up to your hearts content just don't make a wimpy frame. These things (hammer or reciprocating) need a STIFF frame.
