Paint stripper recommendations UK
Hi,
Looking for recommendations for paint stripper to take off automotive paint located in the UK. I've tried Nitromors but it seems to have very little effect other than softening the paint. I put clingfilm over it to stop it drying out but that just ended up melting I sprayed it with water to stop it drying but it still doesn't improve. Are there specific ones one steel and aluminium. I have both to strip. At £51 for 4 litres the Nitromors wasn't cheap so hoping for some recommendations before I waste more money Regards, Peter. |

Hi Peter,
I've just just these on aluminium, works good, ebay no. 121165488412 or this 360981011663, I would say however having just stripped a shell, that giving it 10-20 mins to work, then scrapping while still soft is what I found to be the quickest method, waiting for it to blister is slower. I used a blunt !" chisel, I didn't gouge the ali, I would also D/A sand the paint first with 40g, this speeds things up too.

Starchem paint stripper, evil stuff. 1 coat, leave for 20 mins give it a scrape, next coat nice and thick cover it in plastic sheeting for a couple of hours, the sheeting stops the evaporation of all the toxic goodies, we sometimes leave them overnight with a sheet on.
