Then carefully trim it to the finish size

Almost ready. There's one line that needs to be added. This piece will include the radiused bend from the rear panel to the deck surfaces. The bend will be a curved line on the flat sheet but when the metal is wheeled into shape the line should end up straight. (That's the theory, anyway)

OK, that's all the info I need for now. The two lines running across the panel will be where the deck surface rolls downward into the rear body panel. This one's ready for some wheeling. I'll start that tomorrow. Nap time for the old man.

I started roughing in the rear body panel. First I rolled the bend in with the PU Wheel. I didn't bring the bend all the way in right now because the raised part of the body line on the deck is higher than the rest of the deck. I'll have to do some of this by hand.

It's pretty close. A lot will change as this starts coming into shape so I left extra material along the edges.

Putting in the last of the body line will actually start pulling the curve in along the back of the panel. I had to do this with a combination of hammer and dolly work and a rivet gun with a rounded PU tip on a shot bag.

Shrinking this area also starts bringing the curve in along the back. I didn't run the panel through the ewheel first because putting a crown on the back surface would have made it more difficult to pull this curve in.

Getting close on the right side. Still rough but I do it like this so I can monitor how the metal moves, I can tell early on if I'll be able to do what I want to do

That's as far as I got tonight. I'm hoping to finish this panel over the weekend.

I like it! Nice.

I have a bit of an off topic question:
Why do you have what appears to be your tool box along with perhaps a Lincoln "buzz box" welder on blocks? Especially what looks like just the front edges? Better viewing? Self closing drawers? Just trying to pick up any ideas!

My garage floor has an unusually steep grade toward a drain in the center. The wood blocks are just there to level the tool box. It also makes it difficult to set up a rack for framework.

Right! Got it! Thank you.
It caught my eye because I used to work in a basement with lots of water flooding issues. EVERYTHING was on wood blocks or risers to stay above the occasional 1" of water flooding thru. It would be there one day, dried out the next. We've moved on now.
I figured you didn't have a water issue since your garage images show it at or reasonable above grade.

Carry on!
