Hello my name is Brandon. 33YO firefighter who enjoys wrenching on cars, flying airplanes and I hope to be able to build my own airplane, and my own 1930’s era alpha Romeo, someday, both from scratch. I have a little metal shaping experience but I am very much still a novice and get limited practice due to the never ending fire season here in Southern California. I would like to be a member so that I may have a resource to learn techniques and perhaps someday even contribute some new information.

Hi Brandon. There are a few places around So Cal that have shaping classes and an occasional “metal meet”. PM me if you want more info or want to swing by and beat some metal. If it ever rains.

Hi Brandon,
Welcome to the metal gang.

Thank you for fighting the fires.
Santa Rosa was horrific - saw images of one home intact with fire having passed by - and 20 sec. later - gone completely. ..... Completely.
Super-heat + 80mph winds = Whoomff.

Welcome to the forum, Brandon.

There's lots of us metal novices here that are being well-mentored by patient & generous experts... Very cool place to be.
