Default Can you use a bead roller to pre-stretch?

I'm experimenting with my reinforced Woodward fab bead roller. I read that I need to be pre-stretching bead areas to reduce warping.

I don't have an E-wheel but was wondering if you could pre-stretch with the bead roller? Does anyone make stretching dies for a bead roller?

Mine isn't powered so I figured I could just take the big handle off and run the sheet through a few times like an e-wheel. Would this work?

Yes it can be done...... but stretch the area with a few passes (not all at once).... make sure that the top wheel is flat and the bottom is high crown try to stretch the panel where the bead is going to be up side down, then push the chosen bead the opposite way.
Peter
PS make sure that the pre stretch area is just a bit wider than the bead needed and..... always make a test piece before starting the new bead. Once ready to do the bead .....simply try to do it in a few passes not all at once,........ (depending on the dept?) I found that this way there is very little (if any '' warping'' )

Thanks Peter. That sounds like the same advice I was seeing on YouTube videos from Lazze and the like.

Does anyone make the dies already? I haven't been able to find any via Google search.

Any machining shop should be able to make you a set of dies just provide them with the profiles you need and the size of your machine shafts
