Default Any metalshapers in or around ABQ?

I hope this isn't too off topic.

Just wondering if there are any members around Albuquerque. Might be nice to find someone with some common interests as I just landed a job in Los Lunas. I don't do much shaping these days because my shoulders are shot, but it'd be good to have someone to talk shop with..............especially since it's even more of a change for me than moving to Alabama 5 years ago. Here I am packing up again..................

There are a few metal shapers in Albuquerque but I don't recall any of their names. Ray Rodman had a meet a few years back and they showed up. The hot rod and custom car scene is pretty big down there. I imagine you could track them down pretty quick at one of the car shows.

So anyway, it's good to see you are still around and checking in. New Mexico climate and culture is obviously quite different from Alabama's. Good luck to you in this new start.

Thanks guys!

I'm hopeful about the new job and was disappointed with my job here. In December of 2016, we packed up the company I was working for and shipped them off to Mexico. I went to work for a different company in the same building and just wasn't happy.

October 2017 I was contacted by a guy I worked with for 9 months, 5 years ago. He said, "Hey, I'm out in New Mexico now......we need someone with your skills." Flew out a couple of weeks ago, and had an offer on the table by the end of the first day.

It seems like a great opportunity with a growing company doing the kind of stuff I love to do. I might be able to discuss details later, but I don't think it's a good idea right now. It's an injection molding facility that wants to greatly expand their automation. Right up my alley!
